    I too can share in your joy as my black spotted hens have laid their first egg on Tuesday. Not sure which of the 8 troopers it was, no ones owning up...

    Hurray and congratulations! I have 4 hens, they all lay slightly different eggs, all brown. Caught my Cuckoo Maran 'Sophie' in the act of laying this week so now I know hers are the dark brown ones!
